World Gin Day is a global celebration of all things gin, on the second Saturday in June organised by everyone’s favourite gin swigging primate: Gin Monkey.

The idea is simple: get people together all around the world with a legitimate excuse (not that the Gin Monkey needs one!) to drink some gin, whether it’s in a cocktail, G&T or neat.

We are counting down the days until 8th June so we can celebrate all things gin.

We will be having an indoor gin bar, serving all things gin!

Followed by live music from Ogo in the bar area from 4pm.

We are expecting a busy weekend, so if you would like to dine with us, call the team on 0151 601 1888 to book your table, or click on the reservations page.

With World Gin day being just over a week away, its the perfect time to brush up on your gin knowledge, and we are here to help!

3 things you never knew about gin – or if you’re a true gin fan, maybe you did?

Gin was actually born in the Netherlands
Gin is the offspring of a juniper-infused spirit called genever , which comes from the Netherlands. English soldiers developed a taste for it when we fought alongside the Dutch in the 1600s.

The Philippines drink us under the table
Filipino gin fans put away over 20 million cases a year, almost half of the world’s overall gin consumption.

The oldest working gin distillery in the world is in Devon
Located in a former monastery, Plymouth Gin has been helping gin-fuelled good times roll since 1793.

Cheers to that!
